Season Nine: "The Missionary Position"

First, let me tell you all that I'm knee-deep in writing the season finale so I'm going to keep this week's blog very brief.
This sсript was written by a wonderfully talented writer named Allison Abner. Allison has a terrific pedigree including THE WEST WING as well as WITHOUT A TRACE. We were lucky to get her for this freelance assignment. Freelancing on any show can be difficult and this program is no exception. We have a unique blend of comedy and pathos and drama here unlike any other show on TV today. I give Allison huge kudos for taking it on and making it look easy.
As usual, our cast delivered the goods and then some (Ms. Jamie Lee Curtis included). Cote de Pablo rose to every challenge, finding an instantaneous connection with Karina Lombard's sultry European Interpol agent Monique Lisson. Cote is a brilliant actress and the nuance she brings to the role of Ziva David continues to amaze me.
Our director, Arvin Brown, brought compassion and fun to a complicated storyline. This is my third series working with Arvin. He's a dear friend and a gifted director. Look for Arvin to return to the directing chair in season ten.
As for a secret detail of the episode, remember the military airport where Ziva and Monique say their goodbye at the end of the story? That was actually the entrance to our studio and, thanks to our extraordinary special effects and post production team, it miraculously became a working air field. Not bad, huh?
Finally, my continued thanks to the best cast and crew in television. And get ready for the season ending arc! I hope you like what's coming. To say it's a cliffhanger is an understatement.
